Ayyappadas C S

Outreach Secretary

Hi! I am Ayyappadas, and I spend most of my time dating 😇.

Before you worry, I am a second-year DPhil scholar at the School of Geography and the Environment, and I specialise in luminescence dating. Specifically, I work with river sediments from South India to determine how they have responded to sea-level and climate change over the last 10,000 years. By measuring light trapped in sand grains, I aim to reconstruct the history of rivers and gain a better understanding of how they may behave in the future. As your Outreach Secretary, my goal is to build an interconnected community that is genuinely excited about each other's work. I plan to organise workshops on visual storytelling, helping scholars translate their complex theses into simple, engaging narratives that foster both peer connection and public understanding.
